Someone recently told me they saw my Aladdin/AC crossover pics and that they weren't impressed. They seemed to be implying that I was "selling out" in order to get more views.
With regards to popularity: I am not in charge of what other users find fave-worthy. I never expected my silly crossover doodles to become as popular as they did. To me, art is about drawing what
I want, not what other people want me to draw. That may sound cliché, but it's the truth. I draw a lot of fan art because it inspires me personally. I don't expect everyone to like it. If you're not impressed by my stuff, I'm sure there are lots of other (better) artists out there for you to follow.
P.S. Stop worrying so much about what makes it to the front page. We all know there's better stuff on DA that doesn't get enough attention. That's not the artists' fault. If I can live with all the fetish photography and inflation art, you can live with my crossover doodles for one day.
