Assassins: Christmas Carol by JessKat-art Assassins: Christmas Carol by JessKat-art
Even assassins are allowed to take some time off from scheming and killing and just chill out once a year.

Edmund prefers to spend his holidays like he spends most of the rest of the year - alone. He cannot simply relax and do nothing, even when he's resting he wants to feel like he's doing something useful, like educating himself. But even he can allow himself to cheat a little and pick a book that's not necessarily for purely informative purposes.

Even though I didn't illustrate the follow-up to this picture, I kept imagining the scene as a sort of montage showing all three assassins doing whatever it is they do on Christmas Eve, set to the peaceful tunes of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", and as the music fades out, we see dutiful Edmund's fallen asleep on the couch with the book still open on his lap. Aawww.

First! Anyway, I think this piece of art is excellent and the effort you put in this piece really shows, however I gave you 4 stars for impact because it wasn't really eye-catching for me. Others may disagree may I just remnd you that, this is just my opinion. Otherwise I think this is brilliant and I'm definatly adding this to my favourites! I gave you a 5 for vision because, I can really see what you invisioned (pardon me for spelling) in this piece. I loved that fact that even homcial(again, pardon me) people can enjoy the things in life we take pleasure in. This work have really inspired me in my progression in drawing! Thank you!

mmmmmmmmmmmmm sexy. it's like a thoroughly unexpected scene you see and later on wonder if you fabricated it in your imagination.

Such a warm, cosey feel you get from looking at this.
There's a unique sharpness to your style that I really enjoy.
Maybe the Assassins would give books on how to kill your apponent In 3,500 ways, with your thumb, as presents for Christmas.

I love the warm, cosy feel this piece has, really appropriate for the season; the lighting is particularly lovely!

On a creepy note, this fellow bears a worrying resemblance to a character of mine called EdWARD. Even down to the clothes. :S Spooky.

Your talent knows no boundaries, for sure. I can't believe its been so long since you posted these illustrations, and I'm only just now commenting, but you know why? Because I loved them, and wanted to keep them in my dev watch queue. I don't have any critique or anything intelligent to say, but just know that I find each one of these images purely amazing, as I do all of your art.

I realize that he's an assassin and everything, but the expression on his face there just makes me think that he'd be really fun to annoy. I want to pull his hair :D
Evil tendencies aside, I love all the warm, glowy tones you used in this piece, from his hair to the curtains-- it gives the whole picture a cozy feeling, and I figure that's what you wanted. :D

Your new realistic painting style really shines through in this one, all those amazing details! The old clock, the teapot and cup, the pillows, the hair...I could go on. I can only imagine the time and pain that must've gone into this.

Oh, and his expression is brilliant!

I love the candle light, especially on his hair. And his expression says "Mmh...interesting, even though pretty childish. But why not?"
