It was certainly the oddest job interview Bradshaw Brittle had ever attended.

He nervously adjusted his tie as he heard a voice call him in beyond the door.

It was silly of him to be this fidgety, he knew. As if this was his first time. He was no longer a spotty-faced youngster, after all, but a grown man with a solid résumé and years of experience. There was just something about impeccable, neatly ordered offices like this that gave him the willies. They always made him feel as if the walls themselves were watching him and frowning upon every loudly echoing cough and sniff.

All right, breathe, he told himself as
GroundedGrounded

It strikes a chord. Then another.

It strikes a dozen times, erratically. Like Chinese water torture, predictably unpredictable, slow erosion. Hammering gently at my corporeal shell until the surface cracks, showering me with splinters, leaving a chip on my shoulder.

Establish connection.
Retry.
Replay.
Retreat.

It strikes a chord, again and again. I feel hunted.

Is this part of the process? The changeover? Or has something gone wrong? It feels wrong though I can't explain why.

A family friend asked me to design a logo for her. She already had a clear vision of what she wanted, it was to include her initials (E.B.) and they should form an image of two heart shapes. So the idea was entirely hers, I just drew it and added a few details.

This is really pretty! I thought at first they were just hearts. This would be a really cool tattoo design!
